The McGovern Lab
Discovering pathways towards hearing restoration
What we do
The McGovern Lab uses molecular biology and molecular genetics approaches to investigate the circumstances that are necessary to reprogram cells in the mature mammalian inner ear into sensory hair cells
Current interests include
Understanding the molecular constraints on identities of supporting cells in the cochlea
Understanding the molecular and morphological response of cells in the mature cochlea following hair cell loss
Determining whether vestibular cells can be reprogrammed
